In spite of turbulent times that called for travel restrictions and budget cuts, the 3rd Annual National HR in HospitalityConference & Expo, March 17 – 19, 2009 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort was well-attended by human resource professionals and industry experts in the hospitality industry.

Waves of political, social and economic changes continue to batter the hospitality industry with a fury that was unimaginable just a year ago. The 4th Annual National HR in Hospitality Conference, returning to Wynn Las Vegas, February 22 – 24, 2010 will help you confidently navigate these treacherous waters you’re now in.

The 2010 program will focus on several compelling and timely topics in a mix of general sessions, drill-down breakouts and boardroom-level symposia. With a newly capitalized Department of Labor (DOL) aggressively recruiting OSHA inspectors, wage/hour analysts and employee benefit law specialists, we have no doubt that your compliance in these areas will be closely scrutinized. So we’re building sessions that will help you get compliant and show you how to eliminate the employee-generated complaints that bring the DOL to your door.

We’re also looking at a potential sea change in labor-management relations in the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA). And while EFCA has not yet been enacted as we write this, rest assured that we’ll address the EFCA and other critical labor and employment law developments that will affect your workplace.

In good times and bad, employee recruitment, engagement and retention are key performance areas for the hospitality industry’s HR functions. We’ll feature case studies and discussion groups presented by the best in the business so you can apply the lessons learned in your workplace. Plus, for the first time in four years, HR in Hospitality™ registrants will have the opportunity to attend the Cornell University HR Executive Roundtable.

The role of HR as a strategic business partner will remain important. But the role of HR as an employee champion is becoming increasingly urgent. We’ll show you how to align HR and business strategies in ways that increase employee commitment and capability, thereby improving your ability to execute your business plans and effectively compete in a world where the hurdles are being raised each quarter.

Whether it’s through word-of-mouth, industry buzz, or the program itself, you’ll see why this conference continues to be so successful. Or read for yourself the opinions of industry publications that have written about the 2009 event.

HR in Hospitality™ is the only event of its kind, and the best event for you, because it’s delivered by industry leaders and academics who know what you need to learn to be successful.

Plus, the Expo Hall will continue to bring you leading vendors of HR products and services that are key to improving efficiency, productivity and cost-savings.

Stay tuned for exclusive conference highlights and the 2010 program coming in July.
